Came here for the second time today. Got the Queso Fundido and Avocado Toast. Both were excellent. Had a cucumber Margarita too. Both were great! Service was decent but at times the servers went MIA.
Absolutely stunning new Mexican restaurant located in Metuchen NJ. Amazing location, with lots to do and park lot available. Ambiance is luxurious and you feel like you're in Tulum. Great election of tequila, beautiful interior, plenty of seating. The food was delicious with fresh high quality ingredients. Service was phenomenally, presentation of food was off the hook. Must visit!
Great addition to a great town! Meximodo is just as beautiful in person as it is online. My husband and I really enjoyed our experience. The drinks were great (the Mi Amor cocktail was my favorite!) and they even had a good amount of mocktails on the menu. We started with the corn & roasted tomato guacamole which was AMAZING! Our tacos were not as good as we had hoped, the pork belly was very dry. We had been warned by a few people that the appetizers were better than the entrees and we found this to be true. However, I LOVED the side of sweet plantains which were dressed up with cheese and sour cream and guacamole. Overall, it was a nice date night spot and we will be back in the future!
My husband and I came here today to celebrate his birthday. The inside is beautiful. It was our first time there and we made reservations which really is a must. There is a large parking deck right next door. It's free for 3 hours on weekends. We started with drinks. I got the 'Frozen Watermelon Margarita' and my husband got the 'Cantarito' which was Patrón Silver Tequila, Orange Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Grapefruit Soda, Chamoy, Tajín & Fresh Lime. He enjoyed his drink. I am not a huge drinker so my drink was just okay, but it was nothing against the drink. I am just not a big drinker like I said. They also provided us with chips and 4 different types of salsa. They were all delicious but that red one will wake you up! It is HOT! We also got the 'Mexican Chorizo' guacamole which was delicious. For my entree, I got the 'Pork Belly' tacos which were really good. It had a citrus type of sauce on it. It was very flavorful. My husband got the 'Steak and Cheese' tacos which he said he enjoyed but much preferred mine. Lastly, we ended with Dessert. My husband got the 'Chipotle Chocolate Lava Cake' which was served with Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and Raspberries. He loved this. It was rich, but not spicy at all he said. I got the 'Corn Flan'. I wasn't sure if I would like this but I did! It was a thicker flan than I'm used to but very good, PLUS the cotton candy that came with it had me sold! A 2.9% fee is added to all credit card purchases which was kind of annoying... but overall, the service was very fast and they were keeping everything very clean. Someone was always sweeping, getting plates from tables, etc. We enjoyed it. We would definitely come back and would recommend.
Not only is this place esthetically beautiful but the food, service and ambiance all match the restaurants appearance! Make sure you make a reservation before heading here as this place is the talk of the town right now- it's a hot spot for sure. When you first walk in , you see how beautiful it is, they have indoor and outdoor seating and the music is on point. I ordered guacamole and a mushroom quesadilla for starters , both were so flavorful and delicious. They give you these big tortilla chips with different sauces and that was yummy. I got the birria tacos, not featured in my pics but that wasn't as great as everything else, it lacked flavor. However , the flan and churros I got for dessert were yummy. Overall everything was great and I'd like to come back to taste more items on the menu. Thinking of coming back here for my birthday :)
We decided to come last minute with our friends (party of 4) on a Friday and got seated within 20 minutes. The atmosphere was very nice outside and very tropical, almost forgot I was still in NJ. It reminds me of a restaurant that I went to in FL last year that gave a very similar atmosphere. Seating outside was nice and when it got darker the staff put a light on our umbrella so that there would be light. The food was really good and I usually never finish all my food but this time I did. My husband and I also enjoyed our food and we really don't have anything to complain about. I got the Jamaican drink from the non alcoholic section and I thought it was light and refreshing. The one thing that I can complain about is having to ask the waitress for water about 3 times, I understand they're busy and if that's the case the facility should be providing more servers to prevent this from happening. Or at least bringing one pitcher of water per table to at least have self serve. All in all I liked it and the prices were also decent.
Gustavo, Demi, Jose, Johnny, and Diego. Made my experience at Meximodo impeccable. From the service to the amazing cocktails and dishes. Meximodo is a really the epitome of an authentic Mexican restaurant. If you want to take a step outside of reality, embrace the ambience, and have a great time out. Meximodo is the place to be!
Micheala was an amazing waitress and did an extraordinary job!! we will be coming back just to have her again. and she's also the bees knees!!
I came to this place on Wednesday night. There were a decent amount of people sitting inside and outside. We sat at the bar. Inside is clean, spacious and aesthetically pleasing. For food, I had the street-style corn and the shrimp tacos. Both were so yummy. The corn was a puree and had a chipotle aioli that gave it a tiny bit of a kick. The shrimps in the taco were really juicy. I would order both items again. For drinks, I tried the el jefe and the mango margarita with mezcal. The margarita was just okay. I honestly expected it to be better than it actually was. But I did really enjoy the el jefe, which is also made with mezcal, pineapple and some herb tasting liqueur. I would definitely come back for more of those!
